AN ARMY Reserve soldier was taken to hospital on Sunday after receiving gunshot wounds to his arms during a training exercise at Point Cook.
The soldier, from Melbourne-based Army Reserve unit the 2/10th Medium Regiment, received wounds to both forearms while taking part in an urban training activity at the RAAF Williams Point Cook base about 3.30pm. The training exercise was immediately stopped and first-aid given to the injured soldier before he was transported by ambulance to hospital, where his is believed to be in a satisfactory condition. Victoria Police is investigating the incident, as is the Department of Defence.
