SOME outstanding individual performances on the weekend have kicked off Star and the Western Region Cricket Centre’s (WRCC) local cricketer of the month competition.
Launched this month, the competition will reward the feats of players in each of the West’s local cricket competitions, with prizes up for grabs for the most consistent players in a four-week period.
Players in the senior divisions of the Victorian Turf, North West, Williamstown and District, Western Suburbs United Churches and Victorian Sub District Cricket Associations will be eligible for the monthly awards, to be donated by WRCC, an indoor cricket training and equipment specialist in Brooklyn.
For the first three weeks of every month of the season, a player from each association will be nominated for their performance on the field, before one will be selected as a player of the month and featured in Star.
The monthly winner will also receive four free net sessions at WRCC and a 10 per cent discount on equipment and apparel.

NWCA Luscombe Shield – Taz Kahn (Roxburgh Park) 4/9 from 8 overs.
