Devils do it tough

WERRIBEE’S tough road trip to Warrnambool Basketball Stadium ended in a 132-105 loss in the Big V Championship Division at the weekend.
Both teams started strongly with a 32-39 first quarter before Warrnambool pulled away.
Chris Moore was again on target for the Devils with 24 points for the game including five three pointers.
Luke Egan was putting in another strong performance with 27 points and Brett Rainbow was finding his range with 14 points.
This week the Devils play Dandenong at home on Saturday and complete the double header at Sandringham on Sunday.
The She-Devils faced an undefeated top team in Warrnambool and put in a great display. The three-hour bus trip allowed the team to bond and devise their game plan.
Warrnambool shot out of the blocks with a 24-12 first quarter, but the She-devils outscored The Mermaids in the second quarter 13-9 and trailed by eight at the major change.
Elisha Foley is having a great season and again top scored 21 points with Dionne Fenton scoring 16 points and an amazing 16 rebounds.
On Saturday night the She-Devils take on La Trobe Uni away and are at home on Sunday against Whittlesea with a 2pm tip-off.
Werribee’s Big V Youth League Men took the lead in the first quarter against second placed and led 23-18 at the first change.
Knox quickly rectified this with a 32-11 second quarter and had regained the led at the long break. Anthony Truman top scored with 16 points and Arnaud Lenferna had 14 rebounds and eight assists.
In the end Knox took the points with a 98-62 win.
Werribee faces top team Dandenong at Werribee Sports and Fitness on Saturday night at 6pm.
