CAROLINE Springs locals will have their say on the future of the region with Melton Shire’s Cultural Strategy open for public comment.
The strategy, endorsed at last week’s council meeting, maps out the shire’s five-year plan to improve its fast-changing cultural diversity.
Included in the strategy is an active program for older adults, art and indigenous programs, history and heritage, as well as the formation of cultural and arts groups across the municipality.
“We have a growing sense of participation in all forms of the arts, and need to ensure that there are opportunities and facilities to cater for the community’s needs,” Melton mayor Chris Papas said.
