A COMMUNITY-owned bank for Point Cook is one step closer after residents and traders were offered shares in the company last week.
Point Cook Bendigo Bank chairman Henry Da Silva said that the initial response was better than he had expected.
He said he was confident the community would soon reach the $150,000 needed to start the bank.
