CAROLINE Springs residents will soon have a chance to invest in their community.
A new Bendigo Bank branch will be launched on Saturday by the Caroline Springs Community Bank Steering Committee and will enable residents to become shareholders.
Committee chairman Garry Stock said the committee is seeking support from local residents, traders and business people.
“The bank will add value because it will provide a real opportunity for the future of our kids, our youth and seniors by investing into a community bank that will provide resources back to the community,” Mr Stock said.
He said the committee needs 400 to 500 people to pledge amounts between $500 and 10,000 to make the community bank a reality.
Bendigo Bank currently supports 167 Community Bank branches throughout Australia.
Committee members and Bendigo Bank staff will be available to answer residents’ questions on Saturday from 10am to 2pm at the Caroline Springs Town Centre.
