WYNDHAM residents will soon be able to build a bridge and get over it, literally.
The Wedge St Pedestrian Bridge will soon start to take shape as builders Agfab Engineering get ready to lift large steel girders into place.
Wyndham Mayor John Menegazzo said it was pleasing that the Point Cook-based Agfab Engineering, who were the 2005 Wyndham Business of the Year, were involved in the $5.26 million project.
“It shows that not only will this project create an iconic landmark, it has also incorporated the skills of local businesses,” Cr Menegazzo said.
“Once completed, this bridge will allow residents to do business in the City Centre, socialise at the Piazza and then walk over the bridge through Wyndham Park.
“The Werribee City Centre is currently undergoing a transformation, with the official opening of the Wedge St Piazza last month, planned upgrades to Wyndham Park and construction of a Riverbank Promenade.”
