Wyndham will have even better behaved pooches, with the extension to the Presidents Park Dog Obedience Pavilion almost due for completion.
The project includes external storage, a social area extension, alterations to the verandah and new toilet facilities.
Councillor Cynthia Manson said the facility was used by the Werribee Obedience Dog Club.
“Since the construction of the pavilion in the 1970s, the club has increased their membership, requiring the extension and renovation of the facility,” Cr Manson said.
“Over the past few years, pet registrations have been steadily growing along with our population, making infrastructure like this necessary.
“It also highlights the necessity of registering your pets, as it allows us to keep a track of how many dog owners there are in the municipality and provide adequate programs and infrastructure for them.”
The council has committed to build a puppy playground at Presidents Park in Werribee.
