TARNEIT resident Viktoria Golianova thought she was in a dream after winning a brand new home.
The mother of 10 month-old baby Markus won the keys to a brand new house in Laurimar, 30 kilometres north of Melbourne, worth more than $450,000.
“Winning a house is a life-changing event. I never win anything – not even a scratchie. And now I’ve won a house,” Ms Golianova said.
Ms Golianova, baby Markus and her partner Matthew will own the brand new home thanks to radio station mix101.1’s House That Built Melbourne competition.
“I was home with the bub and heard it on the radio and I thought I’m not going to win it because I never win anything but I put myself and partner in,” Ms Golianova said.
After entering the competition a month ago it took less than two hours before her name was called to go into the major draw.
“It doesn’t happen to me it happens to other people – not me,” Ms Golianova said.
Imagine the surprise when her key was chosen along with 10 others from a large barrel to attempt to open a house door with the winning fit claiming the prize.
“I can’t remember the experience. It’s surreal, unbelievable, I never thought it would happen to me, it felt like I was in a dream,” Ms Golianova said.
Boasted as the station’s biggest promotion of the year the campaign generated more than 100,000 entries.
Mix101.1’s breakfast show Chrissie Swan and Jane Hall announced Ms Golianova as the winner live on air from Laurimar last Friday.
