ANGRY residents in the West have branded a Victorian Transport Plan meeting last week a waste of time.
The plan, which was released three months ago, was on display at Victoria University’s Sunshine campus last Monday week. Roads Minister Tim Pallas was also there to chat to residents about the plan.
But residents were left fuming after questions went unanswered and no new information was revealed.
The minister was also slammed for turning his back on some residents during questions.
“The most startling fact revealed on the night was how little progress had been made in developing positive solutions to the truck problem in the West,” Yarraville resident Bruce Light said.
“What we need is specific timelines for when designs, even concept designs, are presented for public comment – not vague generalisations that are available to many interpretations.
“How much longer do we have to wait?”
Mr Pallas defended the State Government and told residents they did not want to lock in a plan without consulting with the community “every step of the way”.
