BRIMBANK City Council has welcomed government changes to the Victorian Planning Provisions.
Most residential properties are now exempt from the need to get a planning permit for cubby houses, TV antennas, shade sails, swimming pools and spas, barbeques, pergolas, verandahs, decks and other structures.
Building permits must still be obtained for these works where necessary to ensure that any structural work is safe and complies with the building regulations.
