ABOUT 13,500 houses and businesses in Wyndham had no power last Tuesday evening as bushfires cut electricity supplies from the Snowy Hydro system.
The National Electricity Market Management Company, which regulates the nation’s power, ordered three feeder stations from the area, two in Laverton and one in Werribee, to shed power during the crisis.
Unlike the Western Hospital, Footscray, the Werribee Mercy was not affected by the blackout.
Areas that were affected, mainly in Hoppers Crossing, were without power from about 6pm to 8pm.
