A GROUP of Wyndham dancers will perform the show of their lives to celebrate reaching a milestone.
The girls and boys from Dancemax, a dancing school based in Hoppers Crossing, will be performing at The Palms at Crown Casino.
The gala performance is to celebrate 10 years of the dance studio being open.
Principal and founder Hayley Armstrong started the award winning business in 2003 when she was just 21-years-old.
“At 21 I don’t think that I had imagined that we would have 250 students and be performing at Crown Casino for our 10 year anniversary. I definitely didn’t envisage that,” Ms Armstrong told Star.
“I love it and I’m really passionate so I’m sure I’ll keep doing it for another 10 years.”
Ms Armstrong said she was not the only to have seen the business grow over the past decade.
“We’re celebrating our 10th year but we’ve also got three students that have been with us for 10 years,” she said.
“There’s at least 50 students that have been with us for five years or more.”
Ms Armstrong said when she got her first taste of dancing at just two-years-old her teacher originally thought she would not be up to the task.
“I guess every mum wants their daughter to try dancing so my mum took me to a class when I was two-years-old,” she said.
“The teacher said I was too young but then after the class I did everything she asked and I guess I’ve just haven’t looked back.”
The students will be performing at The Palms on Saturday 28 July. For more information visit www.dancemaxstudios.com.au or call 9369 4007.
