MEMBERS of various African communities are fired-up about safety in the home.
The Metropolitan Fire Brigade has trained 12 people as peer facilitators who will discuss fire safety issues in the home with members of their own community.
Mark Ballantyne education liaison officer for the fire brigade said the facilitators attended a 10 week course, which culminated in a certification ceremony in Braybrook on Saturday (9 September).
“This is a unique program and it is the first time we have run it,” Mr Ballantyne said.
