POLICE suspect a bikie war has erupted in Werribee, after a molotov cocktail was thrown at a house in Bridge St.
Firefighters were called to the single-storey house, owned by the Rebels Motorcycle Club, at 9.20pm on 7 April after the petrol bomb landed on its roof.
Damage was minor and Werribee detectives are investigating it and several other fires at the property.
Victoria Police media officer Senior Constable Leigh Wadeson said police believed the attack was linked to a gang war between the Rebels and Bandidos bikie gangs.
“It seems that way,” he said.
“Police are investigating all avenues to do with that, but it hasn’t been confirmed.”
He said police had long suspected that the Rebels were active and based in the Werribee area.
The attack follows a fire at a Rebels North Geelong property earlier this month and an incident where 30 shots were fired at a Bandidos club house in Breakwater five weeks ago.
