SOME of the best young basketball talent from across the country will converge this weekend for the annual National Junior Classic.
Teams from Victoria, South Australia, ACT and New South Wales will compete over the three days of the Queen’s Birthday long weekend for the 30th Classic.
A total of 128 teams have been accepted to play matches in four age groups at Dandenong Basketball Stadium and Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
Teams in under 12, 14, 16 and 18 age groups have been entered from Keilor, Altona, Werribee, Diamond Valley and Craigieburn after passing strict performance criteria in the lead up to the tournament.
The junior classic has also proved to be an important breeding ground for referees and coaches.
