A FOUR-wicket haul from Craig Sheedy has Williamstown in a position of power heading into the second day of the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association third round.
Sheedy bagged 4/33 in 25 brilliant overs to help restrict Moorabbin to a first innings total of 165.
Rohan Schreier was the only batsman to get away from the Williamstown bowlers, remaining 46 not out.
Williamstown will be chasing its second win of the season when play resumes on Saturday.
In other South/West Division matches, Yarraville compiled 207 runs against Elsternwick on the first day thanks to a half-century from Leigh Holmes (55), the middle order exploits of Peter Radford (33) and Sam Skurrie (34) and the late hitting of Matthew LaRocca (26).
A strong knock of 54 from Adam Alifraco helped Werribee to an imposing total of 234 against the Kingston Saints.
Werribee took the ascendancy after snaring a wicket before stumps to leave Kingston 1/17.
Altona made 158 in its first dig against Ormond, which will resume at 2/38 with the game in the balance.
