It is that time of the year where things get a little wild at Werribee Open Range Zoo.
Throughout the school holidays Werribee Open Range Zoo will come to life after dark with their ‘Wild Nights’ spectacular.
The night time zoo experience will include fireworks shows, special animal encounters, shadow puppet theatre and an up close and personal look at the “cute and creepy” creatures of the night.
Zoo Events Coordinator Karen Rodriguez said Wild Nights was a great family experience.
“Wild Nights is a great opportunity to rug up and embrace winter,” Ms Rodriguez said.
“It’s always amazing to see how much fun the kids have toasting marshmallows, and being out after dark,” she said.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a torch to help spot lions, cheetahs, wild dogs and hippos on the African River Walking Tail.
Apart from the charm of the night sky, there will be lots of entertainment and activities for visitors to enjoy.
Visitors can jump on board the night time safari; get up close with Africa’s smallest cat in the Serval Under the Stars presentation; see nocturnal creatures not normally seen during normal opening hours of the zoo and see bubble makers, plate-spinners and a hula-hooping extraordinaire in the Bubble Glow Zone.
Wild Nights will run from 29June -13 July from 5.30-8.30pm.
