MARIBYRNONG College paid tribute to former teacher Joan Brogden for her contribution to the arts and the school last week by naming their college theatre after her. Ms Brogden was one of the orginal teachers at Maribyrnong High School in 1958 and taught at the school until 1972. She started up a drama club, where improvisation and short plays made up weekly events at the school and in 1967, through her instigation, drama was removed from the English syllabus and taught as a separate subject. The school marked the event by unveiling their art exhibition and premiering their annual school production, Fear: Tales of Terror and Intrigue, which includes student Armani Dagner, above. 72354 Picture: JOE MASTROIANNI
