WYNDHAM has come second in a top-10 list of Melbourne’s building permit approvals for 2006.
The city issued $765 million worth of permits for the year, up 18 per cent from 2005.
The leading municipality was Melbourne city, with $1.8 billion worth of permits approved.
The whole state reached a record $16 billion in 2006.
Planning Minister Justin Madden said the high activity was testament to the robust condition of Victoria’s building industry.
