POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery at the Werribee TAB last week.
A TAB employee was locking the back door to the Watton St premises at 11.20pm on Monday 27 when a man ran toward him wearing a balaclava.
The staff member turned and re-entered the building before setting off the alarm.
Police arrived soon after but the man had already fled.
He was wearing a long sleeved white top and carrying a green bag and is described as 180 centimetres tall with a solid build.
Witnesses who were around the Synnot St and Bridge St area at the time of the attempted robbery can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
