FOOTSCRAY police have charged two people with attempted armed robbery and threats to kill after a man was abducted in Walter St, Footscray, about 4pm on Sunday.
The man and woman were also charged with false imprisonment and intentionally causing serious injury.
Police allege two people drove up to a 37-year-old man in Walter St and demanded drugs.
The man was forced into a car after a firearm was produced.
He was driven around, threatened with the firearm and demands were made for money.
He was also hit across the face numerous times with the barrel of the pistol and suffered facial injuries before being returned to Walter St.
Police later intercepted a car in Sunbury.
Police recovered an imitation firearm in the vehicle.
A man, 29, and woman, 36, from Sunbury, were remanded to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
