Is this Wyndham's most expensive home?

THE median house price in Hoppers Crossing may still be just over $300,000, but every now and then something tips the scale.
One house currently for sale in the suburb has a price tag of $1.3 to $1.4 million, possibly a record in Wyndham.
Tino Parisi from Compton Green Real estate Agents, who are selling the property, said it was obvious why the asking price is so high.
“It’s completely a one-off home. They just don’t build these kinds of homes anymore,” Mr Parisi said.
“It’s still pretty rare to see a house going for that price in this area, but then again these kinds of houses are very rare. It’s got seven bedrooms and three bathrooms.”
The house, on Leatherwood Drive, boasts a large winding stair case, crystal chandeliers, and an impressive 78 square metres of marble and hard wood floors.
Principal of Ray White Real Estate in Werribee, Craig Burns, said it was unusual to see a house sell for more than $1 million in Wyndham.
“Some of the island blocks in Sanctuary Lakes can get the same price tag, but you would not find many of them in Werribee or Hoppers Crossing,” Mr Burns said.
“The average house price in the area is still around $300,000, so for a property to go for more than $1 million it needs the land to go with it.
“We recently sold a house on the Werribee River with around 1400 square metres of land for about $750,000 and that was a record for a sale on the Werribee River.”
