A ST ALBANS resident has been fined $2500 after being caught dumping rubbish at an empty site in Altona North.
Marian Pasoski appeared in Sunshine Magistrates’ Court this month on a charge of aggravated littering as a result of an incident in May last year.
Staff from Hobsons Bay Council reported seeing Mr Pasoski using a bobcat to dump rubbish at a vacant site off Kororoit Creek Rd.
Their suspicions were aroused when the workers saw the man driving a white truck with the bobcat and rubbish in tow.
When questioned by police, the St Albans man admitted the rubbish was his, saying he had been trying to save money by disposing of it illegally.
The magistrate ordered him to pay EPA costs of $2057 on top of the $2500 penalty.
