$1.9m for college to boost facilities

POINT Cook Senior Secondary College will receive a $1.9 million Federal Government grant to construct new facilities.
Liberal Senator Julian McGauran made the announcement last week.
“The new school would provide the best possible learning environment for students in the area,” Senator McGauran said.
In 2007, $292 million will be allocated nationally to capital projects in state schools with $69.902 million going to Victoria.
The Capital Grants Program for Schools focuses on improving education outcomes for disadvantaged students.
“We want a strong and effective school system to maximise the opportunities for young Australians,” he said.
