WYNDHAM City Council approved a planning permit last week for the first residential lots at Williams Landing, the municipality’s newest suburb.
A permit for 592 lots was passed for the project which, when completed, will be a $1.5 billion residential and commercial development.
The Victorian state manager for developer Cedar Woods, Nathan Blackburne, said works were anticipated to start in May, which will see the first residents moving into new homes by mid-2009.
Williams Landing will eventually be home to 2000 households and an urban centre including shops, businesses, bulky goods, restaurants and entertainment venues.
