KEY Melton Shire Council and community events will be listed in an events calendar to be distributed to homes in the first week of February.
The full-colour calendar will be delivered to all homes and business in the shire and will provide a convenient month-by-month reference for council-run and supported events, council meetings, school terms and public holidays.
Key emergency contacts, council contact information and councillor details are also included.
Melton Shire Council mayor Bruce Rowan said the calendar was an initiative by the council to encourage more people to participate in local events.
“The calendar serves as a reminder that the Melton Shire is a vibrant region with many exciting and diverse events. I encourage all residents to put the calendar on the wall or fridge and attend some of the many events being held within the shire during 2008.”
Calendars will be delivered to homes and businesses from 4 to 8 February.
