APPLICATIONS have been called for the latest round of Melton Shire Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) grants.
Grants are available to young people aged from 12 to 25 and community groups, with the aim of raising the profile of young people within the municipality and providing support and assistance to individual young people.
Up to $5000 is available for the development of youth programs, activities or events. Groups and organisations can also apply for a materials/resources grant of up to $500 to help buy new equipment, such as sporting goods.
Personal grants of up to $500 are also available for young people needing assistance to buy items such as schoolbooks and uniforms, or pay school fees.
All groups are welcome to apply, with the proviso that applicants must be able to show that young people are involved in their core business.
Any young person living or going to school within the shire is also eligible to apply.
