WYNDHAM Vale’s WRFL Division Two season is over after a 66-point loss to Parkside.
The Falcons were able to stick with the Magpies early, but the longer the game went the tougher the task became.
After trailing by 35 points going into the last quarter, Parkside kicked away thanks to a seven-goal term to seal the win.
The 20.13 (133) to 10.7 (67) victory sets up a rematch between the Magpies and their qualifying final conquerors Manor Lakes this week.
Elsewhere in the WRFL, Altona kept its season alive with a 70-point thrashing of St Albans.
Having lost to the Saints twice during the home and away season, the Vikings produced some of their best football en route to the 24.9 (153) to 12.11 (83) win.
Jayden Post was outstanding for Altona and finished with a bag of five goals.
It was the eighth time this season, Post has kicked five or more goals in a game.
He was well supported by Steven Kennedy who finished with four majors while Jordan Robbins and Richard Knight each kicked three.
For St Albans, Joel West was named best on ground in what will go down as a disappointing finish to the Saints’ season.
Up forward, Aaron Henneman and Tim Jenkins both kicked two goals.
The result means the Vikings will take on Sunshine this week in the Division One semi-final, with the winner to play the loser of Deer Park and Spotswood.
