A SUPERMARKET in Tarneit was burgled last Tuesday, but the thieves left a rubber mallet and paint scraper behind after the incident.
Police are seeking witnesses to the crime, which happened at a Sayers Rd store, near the corner of Morris Rd at around 3.15am.
The unknown offenders forced their way in through a rear door, but forgot to take a rubber mallet and paint scraper with them, after fleeing the scene.
They stole electrical items including digital cameras and HD set-top boxes before leaving the store.
A male described as being of a medium build, wearing a grey or light-coloured long-sleeved light weight top with blue pants – possibly wearing a hoodie pulled down over most of his face – was seen walking a dog near the entrance, prior to entering the supermarket.
Police also wish to speak to a female who was seen in a small yellow car near the time of the burglary.
