Construction of a large scale felt artwork is one of the activities being incorporated into the curriculum to celebrate.
Textile coordinator Gabriella Verstraeten has involved two local artists, Sue Anderson who specialises in landscapes, and Lis Bisset, whose talent lies in textiles, to run the Artists in Residence Program.
About 80 students over four days last week helped create a series of mini pastel artworks depicting the school’s growth, buildings and landscapes before the designs were interpreted into four large textile banners.
The completed work will be will hang permanently in the VCE centre.
