Police seek help over train assault

POLICE are seeking assistance in identifying a man involved in an assault on a Werribee train in September.
Boarding the train around 6pm on Saturday 29 September, the man verbally abused passengers in an attempt to start a fight.
Singling out a male passenger at the other end of the carriage, he approached him from behind and smashed a beer bottle over his head before punching him in an unprovoked attack.
Other passengers came to the aid of the victim, who required hospital treatment for his injuries.
The attacker left the train at Aircraft Railway Station.
Police have released an image of the man they wish to speak in relation to the assault.
