UNDERCOVER detectives raided properties in Lalor and Fawkner last Thursday as part of their investigation into the the murder of underworld figure Mark Mallia.
Mr Mallia’s severely burnt body was found in a drain in Ralph St, Sunshine, in August last year.
Police executed simultaneous search warrants about 2pm last Thursday and seized documents from a car yard in Sydney Rd, Fawkner.
Forensic examiners were still working at the scene at Pinetree Crescent in Lalor on Friday.
Police said in a statement that recent credible information led detectives from the Purana taskforce to both addresses.
