Schools get cash for projects

SEVERAL Wyndham schools have received substantial grants for capital infrastructure projects.
The grants were announced last week by Senator Julian McGauran as part of the Federal Government’s Investing In Our Schools program.
St Peter Apostle Primary School, Hoppers Crossing, has been given $60,000 to provide staff preparation areas and construction of a staff carpark.
St Andrew’s Primary School, Werribee, has received $60,000 for fencing.
Bethany Primary School, Werribee North, has received $60,000 for information technology equipment and infrastructure.
Corpus Christi Primary School, Werribee, has been given $75,000 for play equipment and shade structures.
The Investing In Our Schools program builds on the $1.7 billion allocated by the government for school capital works from 2005-08.
Senator McGauran said it was important to provide schools with facilities that will enhance the education and well-being of students.
