WHILE it is likely to bring her mum to tears, five-year-old Harper from Werribee is absolutely certain that she will enjoy her first day at school.

Harper will be going off to Thomas Churnside Primary School soon, leaving behind her playful kindergarten days and determined to make new friends and learn lots.

“I want to be a doctor because I play doctors at home and I want to fix people,” Harper said.

“I’m excited because I want to go to school.”

If she is not beating up her younger sister Morgan, Harper can be seen carting her stuffed cat Coco around.

More than 34,000 kids will be returning or starting school in the coming weeks in Wyndham and Harper could just be the most excited of them all.

She has already made two best friends during a tour of her new school.

“One of them is called Tiara and I can’t remember the other girl’s name,” she said.

“I have other friends too but they won’t be in my group.”

Her mother Sarah said she would be a “blubbering mess” as she farewelled her daughter on her first day of school.
