Wyndham Council is inviting the community to submit their ideas for events to be held in the municipality as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival in October.
The festival, which recognises the inspiring contributions made by older Victorians, will be held around the state between October 6 and 13.
Funding will be provided by Wyndham Council to support innovative, inclusive community events or ideas, with preference given to applications which seek to reduce social isolation and are open to everybody.
Any community groups, individual or group of individuals, business, sporting club, school or education facilities or neighbourhoods within the municipality is eligible to submit their application for consideration.
Mayor, Heather Marcus, said a luncheon and concert, multicultural morning tea, a healthy living session and a Police Band performance were some of the previous Seniors Festival events held in the municipality.
Submissions must be received by Friday 31 May, with successful applicants to be notified by Friday 14th June.
For more information on the Seniors Festival, phone Wyndham Council’s Aged and Disability Unit on 9742 0777.
