BRIMBANK City Council will take out a $3 million loan to fund capital works during the 2006-2007 financial year.
The loan will be taken with the Commonwealth Bank over a five-year period and will go towards projects such as the $9.5 million redevelopment of the Sunshine Swim and Leisure Centre.
Capital works will also include the construction of a pavilion at the Keilor Part Recreation Reserve.
Mayor Natalie Suleyman said the funding was not required this year.
“Taking out the loan at the very end of this financial year enables us to carry over the $3 million into the 2006-2007 Budget,” she said.
“This money will go towards next year’s capital works program which will be the biggest in council’s history.”
