WORKERS protested at the Feltex textile plant in Tottenham on Sunday, angry at being asked to sign individual workplace agreements.
About 300 workers have refused to sign the agreements, which were offered after the company was placed in receivership and bought by a subsidiary of Godfrey Hirst Australia.
The Textile Clothing and Footwear Union of Australia accused Godfrey Hirst of using the Federal Government’s new workplace laws to exploit workers and deprive them of their entitlements.
However, a Godfrey Hirst spokesman said the individual workplace agreements would preserve existing pay rates and benefits.
