Pedestrian, 83, dies

AN 83-YEAR-OLD Ascot Vale woman has died in hospital two weeks after being hit by a car in Maribyrnong.
The pedestrian was crossing Cordite Avenue about 8am on Thursday 28 February when she was struck by a car near the intersection of Central Park Drive.
She was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
She died at 2.50pm on Sunday at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
The driver of the car is assisting police with their inquiries.
The woman’s death brings the state’s road toll to 59, one down from this time last year.
