THREE youths involved in the notorious Werribee DVD sex case faced the Children’s Court last week but avoided jail.
One, now 18 years, was convicted and sentenced to a 12-month youth supervision order, while two others, now aged 17 and 19, were ordered to serve a year’s probation.
The three had pleaded guilty to charges of assault, making child pornography and two counts each of sexual penetration by intimidation.
They did not sexually assault the intellectually delayed victim, a girl then aged 17, but encouraged others who did.
The court had been told the girl had gone to Werribee railway station, expecting to meet three of the youths, but encountered 11 who walked her to the Werribee River and surrounded her.
She was spat on, urinated on and forced to perform sexual acts.
The assault, which occurred in June 2006, was filmed and DVDs made which were sold to schoolchildren.
All 11 have now pleaded guilty and been sentenced to either youth supervision orders or probation.
