ARTS, crafts and a whole bunch of activities have been keeping residents at Manor Lakes Aged Care busy over the last year.
Special visits from the Bunnings Warehouse Werribee team have created a real buzz at the aged care centre.
Bunnings Warehouse Werribee teamed up with Manor Lakes Aged Care to run a craft program for the residents this year.
Lifestyle Coordinator at the aged care centre, Angie Taylor said the program helped improve the quality of life of residents and reduced boredom.
“Our residents just love, it’s great,” Ms Taylor said. “It’s a great program.”
Bunnings Werribee Operations Manager, Robyn O’Brien said the residents enjoyed the different craft activities which included painting, decorating photo boxes and scrap booking.
“It’s really great to be able to be involved in the local community and our team members live and work here too and we try to support our local community where we can,” Ms O’Brien said.
“The residents enjoy learning new skills and doing activities that are not part of their everyday schedule,” she said.
“We have built good relationships with the residents and they enjoy sharing their craft tips with us.”
The Bunnings team will be back to visit the residents next month to run a Christmas Wreath activity.
