POLICE have smashed a drug ring following raids on residential properties in Melbourne’s West last Tuesday.
Officers swooped on 13 homes across Geelong, Torquay, Belmont, Paraparap, Anglesea, Jan Juc and Werribee from 6am.
In the major bust, members seized cannabis, ecstasy, LSD, cash, a car, a motorbike and three firearms.
Police arrested 15 people in the raids and 11 were charged with drug trafficking.
Geelong Regional Response Unit Sergeant Peter West said police were cracking down on drug trafficking in the area.
“This investigation has sparked ongoing inquiries into drug trafficking in the area and we will continue to pursue those avenues throughout the year,” he said.
“We are sending a stern warning to those who are thinking about getting caught up in drug trafficking to think again.”
