THE vital work of volunteers in parks was the focus of a visit by national and international experts to Werribee Park last week.
Parks Victoria is working towards a best-practice model for its existing volunteer program that provides essential help in protecting and maintaining Victoria’s extensive system of parks and waterways, including Werribee Park.
Parks Victoria volunteer co-ordinator Sjaan Field said volunteers contributed an enormous amount towards improving the health of parks through a variety of activities such as tree planting, conducting fauna and flora surveys and acting as camp ground hosts.
