RIDE Australia’s longest stainless steel toboggan slide and find out some job-seeking tips these holidays with the Maribyrnong Youth Services team.
Students aged from 12 to 25 will be well catered-for this month following the creation of an action-packed holiday program.
The youth team has added a number of new activities to the standard holiday program to incorporate activities for a wider range of students.
Youth Leadership Advisory Council representative Councillor Michelle MacDonald said all activities are run by qualified youth services staff and priced $2 to $10, with a number of activities free.
“With the program being so diverse it gives the different age groups an opportunity to do their own thing,” she said.
The program is designed for people aged 12 to 25, including those who are independently mobile with support needs.
For those aged 18 to 25, a self-defence course will be held by qualified instructors at Victoria University on Wednesday 3 October.
Another new addition to the program is a trip to the Malthouse Theatre to see the youth production of Kin.
Cr MacDonald said while many of the activities were recreational, programs such as a job-seeking workshop and a healthy cooking class offered young people skills and knowledge as well.
“Participants this year can look forward to trips to Healesville Sanctuary, Malthouse Theatre and the Human Body Exhibition,” she said.
“They will also have the option of going to Funfields Fun Park, which boasts Australia’s longest stainless steel toboggan slide.”
Bookings must be made by this Friday, 14 September.
