A DOMINANT 2006 season for Laverton Park secured the Football Federation Victoria Provisional League One league best and fairest for Ricardo Lopez last week.
Lopez was well clear of the competition at the end of the count, winning by an astonishing 20 votes from Melbourne University’s Adam Griffith.
Lopez’s team-mate Vincent De La Plaza was rewarded for his 15 goals this season by finishing sixth in the count.
League leading goalscorer Robert Nedelkov from Hoppers Crossing finished third on 20 votes.
In the State League Two awards, Williamstown’s Nebojsa Milenkovic finished fifth behind winner Zlate Matlioski from Lalor United, while Yarraville’s Gaffar Iedom and Altona City’s Michael Cullen were tied for eighth.
Werribee City duo Martin Collins and John Grimaud finished in the top six of the State League Three count.
