Square an example of safety excellence

THE unique design of Footscray’s Madden Square has again been recognised as a stand-out redevelopment.
Police and Emergency Services Minister Bob Cameron acknowledged the City of Maribyrnong and the square’s designers last week as part of the 2007 Victorian Crime and Violence Prevention Awards.
Madden Square was awarded the Improving Safety in Public Places and the Built Environment awards.
Mr Cameron said the award winners showed a commitment to making their community a safer place to live.
Since its completion in 2006, the central Footscray landmark has also been awarded CCAA Public Domain Award for helping to set new benchmarks in the use of concrete to enhance the public domain.
