IN A back room of a normal suburban house in Hoppers Crossing a group of friends get together to practice their music skills and hopefully live out the ultimate rocker’s dream.
Ashley Sevior is the front man of this teenage band.
When he puts on his round sunglasses and picks up the microphone he becomes Ash Archer, and his friends become The Venues.
Ash Archer is a hard core rocker who pushes his voice to the limits and thrives on entertaining a crowd.
The 19-year-old said he parents started his love of rock music.
“When normal kids were listening to The Wiggles, mum had me on the Bat Out of Hell Vinyl,” Ash said.
“I tried AusKick and I lasted two weeks, after that my parents took me to singing classes.
“When I was six-years-old I listened to Bon Jovi’s Crush and I knew I wanted to be a musician straight away.”
Since then Ash has built a strong fan base, consisting of more than 15,000 facebook fans.
Several of his songs have been viewed more than 10,000 times each on YouTube and he has fans from all over the world.
“The YouTube hits were amazing. It was pretty cool to think that 10,000 people had heard your original music,” he said.
“The music is a part of you so it’s cool that they connected with that.”
Along with The Venues, which consists of Nikhi on the keyboards, Liam on rhythmic guitar, Jozsef on bass guitar, and Seb on bass guitar, Ash hopes to perform all over the world.
“I want to be on the top of the world,” he said.
“I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if it wasn’t for music because I’ve just done it for so long.”
