It’s settled – Harbour moves ahead

THE long-awaited Wyndham Harbour development has taken a major step forward with the first land settlements taking place this month.
The first settlement took place on 9 October and Wyndham Harbour Development Director, Sonya Miller, said residents and visitors to Wyndham would soon be able to notice the harbour taking shape.
“The first land settlements at Wyndham Harbour this October represent significant progress for the development and bring us yet another step closer to achieving our vision,” Ms Miller said.
“People passing Wyndham Harbour will also be able to recognise the substantial progress on construction at the development, including the highly anticipated breakwater and local road networks.”
Point Cook couple, Steve and Georgina Balnozan, who purchased land at Wyndham Harbour in 2010, were among the first to settle on their land earlier this month and are excited about the next stages of their purchase.
Ms Balnozan said the couple is looking to commence construction on their four-bedroom home at Wyndham Harbour in the next two years.
“Wyndham Harbour was our last chance to purchase something on the water in close proximity to the city and also in the western suburbs, which is where we have spent the past 30 years of our lives,” Ms Balnozan said.
Ms Miller said once the breakwater is completed it will form part of the marina that will one day be home to 1000 berths and dry boat storage for up to 390 boats, making it the only safe boat harbour between Williamstown and Geelong.
“Wyndham Harbour will be home to a vibrant retail and commercial centre with cafes, restaurants, a convenience store, a Marina Club, bay trail and two new beaches, along with extensive boating services including maintenance and servicing amenities and a refuelling dock,” Ms Miller said.
