Biz ladies vamp it up

A new era is dawning for business women in the region.
The Hastings Business Women’s Network (HBWN) announced its bold new brand, expanded membership benefits and plans to revitalise the group at a business breakfast attended by more than 85 of the region’s most successful female employers and employees.
HBWN President Kelly Lamb said it was time for the network to evolve in order to support the growth and achievements of its talented members while raising awareness of the contribution of business women to the local economy and community.
“After 13 years with the same logo, the same website and the same events format it was time for the HBWN to freshen up its image to better reflect the professionalism of our 150-plus members,” Mrs Lamb said.
“Today we’ve revealed a major rebranding exercise, a contemporary logo, a complete website redevelopment and the implementation of a number of initiatives to further benefit members.
“These initiatives include varying the times and venues for events to increase participation, establishing a social media presence, updating the network’s communications and marketing materials, introducing new ways for members to interact and recommencing a professional development program.
“We are introducing clever ways for our members to get the most out of the Network, engage with each other and leverage exciting new opportunities to promote their businesses.
“We have built upon the HBWN’s proud 13 year history of encouraging, empowering and educating local women who come together to exchange ideas, information and inspiration while striving for business success.
“The HBWN is all about growing tall poppies so our new logo retains the bright red poppy flower, which has been the recognisable symbol of the Network since its inception in 1999.
“I’d like to invite all women in business – not only those who run their own business, but also employers and employees – to come along to one of our events or go to www.hbwn.com.au to learn how rewarding it can be, both personally and professionally, to be part of our warm and welcoming business community.
“Next on the agenda is the HBWN’s International Women’s Day fundraising event for the Hastings Women and Children’s Refuge on March 8 at The Glasshouse. Everyone is welcome to join us for an evening featuring inspiring stories of local women who have made a lasting impression on our community,” Mrs Lamb said.
