More than 100 classic motorcycle riders are expected to participate in the annual Natureland Classic Motorcycle Club rally scheduled to be held at Hat Head from November 2 to 4.
The rally kicks off with a welcome BBQ for rally participants at the Hat Head Bowling Club on the Friday evening, before a long Saturday ride followed by a prize giving dinner and finishing with a shorter Sunday ride and another BBQ.
The Saturday morning ride is the most spectacular for spectators, with riders being flagged away as they leave Hat Head Bowling Club. Everyone participating is keen to get on the road, riding their classic bikes that can range in age from the early 1900s up to more modern machines.
The money raised from the rally each year is donated by the Natureland club to a local charity. So, not only are riders joining a bunch of like-minded people who enjoy motorcycles, whether it’s riding them or talking about them, they’re also helping a worthy cause. The high rally attendance provides plenty of bikes to look at for everyone and all the riders enjoy comparing notes, swapping biking yarns and giving each other technical tips.
It is an action packed weekend with pleasurable riding through the verdant countryside of the Macleay Valley which is at its best in spring. Most participants stay in Hat Head for the weekend, with the Bowling Club becoming the rally headquarters, giving this small coastal village a valuable bit of additional income.
Anyone wanting to join the Rally should register early to ensure they don’t miss out on any grub, as the Saturday ride includes morning tea, lunch and dinner and are all catered, according to numbers. You can obtain a registration form by telephoning the rally secretary on Tel: 6562 7784 or by visiting the club website at www.naturelandclassicmotorcycleclub.org.au
